Mountains of Traditions
One of the many things that makes the Vail Valley special is our traditions. Each family, and each mountain have their rituals that define the seasons and inspire meaningful memories.
Over the last few weeks, Beaver Creek has had several annual events that mark the start of the ski season. There was the “World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition” followed by the Beaver Creek’s famous Cookie Time. And a few days later, the 41st Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony took place with live music and the lighting of the tree in Beaver Creek Village. And finally, we had opening day, when the most eager got their first turns of the season.
Just this past week, the Birds of Prey World Cup ski race returned, where top racers showed us what’s possible on two skis in the Super G and Downhill competition. And off the racecourse, the village was alive with live music and a celebration of ski culture.
As we enter the holiday season, families from around the globe are joining those who are fortunate enough to call the Vail Valley home. And we’re all reminded what a special place this is.
